Good question! The issue here should not be points, it is getting a question answered, knowledege gained, a problem solved, a new viewpoint, perhaps even gaining a friend, but more importantly, a better understanding of the people and the world around us
So look at what you may lose by not posing a question to Answers...
The only dumb question is one that goes unasked - the choice is up to you.

DUH! this is like something else in the international. To get something you in a number of of situations pay for it. and also you're rewarded for offering something for the solid of others. WOW its large to carry close there are smart human beings in yahoo solutions that would want to ensure out complicated such issues as voting thumbs down on all the different peoples solutions in basic terms in case the man who requested the question doesn't decide on a perfect answer yours might want to win.

but they do that to reduce spam and so that people have to answer more questions than they ask so you get answers to your quetions...
