try .Dr. Richard Schulze's female formula

Take this with a progesterone cream or wild yam cream (my sister had good luck with a progesterone cream, but she can't remember the brand name she used.) I have never had natural and alternative treatments fail me.

Increase soy products (tempeh/soybeans/soynuts/miso/soy burgers etc --not soy milk or soy sauce though as they don't work for this purpose although they may be healthy food items)

HRT is not safe or natural for humans

The poster above who says all herbal and natural therapy is crap obviously is not aware of the tens of thousands of studies that confirm that many folk remedies work.

It is not the herb that is crap but the processing and absorption route.. Use only organic or wildcrafted herbs and generally use a tincture rather than a capsule. History is full of cases of natural/herbal/alternative treatment helping even what doctors say is alternative.

Yep. I've taken black cohosh in the form of Estroven and Remifemin. Since the FDA doesn't regulate these types of medications (they're considered supplements, not drugs) you may not be getting the amount the manufacturer claims per pill. However, I've had some success with black cohosh and no noticeable side effects. Both Estrogen and Remifemin usually offer free 2-week sample supplies (no obligation) on their websites. HOWEVER, you must check with your physician or his nurse before you begin ANY medications. You may have a health condition or be taking other medications that contraindicate black cohosh. And welcome to the world of "I'm hot. No, I'm cold. No, I'm hot."

For Hot Flashes take the Homeopathic Remedy SEPIA 30 thrice a day half hour before or after meals and you will be cured in a few days without any side effects or complications. If you can describe other accompanying symptoms it would be much better, so I can suggest an appropriate prescription.
Take Care and God Bless you.

I just started taking soy pills for hot flashes and its really helped. its reduced the number and frequency, and the intensity of them. I bought an over the counter drug. If you look in the vitamin section in the grocery store under "soy", you will find it. or any menopause product with soy should work.
good luck,

Vitamin E may help. Also, essential fatty acids, and calcium-magnesium-zinc pills have given relief to a few.
Good luck!

Honey, when you're old enough to have hot flashes, you're old enough to understand that you need estrogen to make you feel better. Yeah, I know all the horror stories about estrogen, but when I can't take the symptoms of hot flashes and mood swings, sleepless nights, etc. I'd rather take Premarin! It works! It makes your skin look beautiful; it helps prevent bone loss and keeps you "even". How much more natural can you get....it's made from pregnant mare urine?!! Godloveya!

"Herbal" and "Natural" remedies are all crap and you should know that....seems like you found out the hard way. I would suggest you see your OB-GYN Dr. and talk about hormone replacement therapy. In the mean time there is a hormone sold as a food supplement at stores called DHEA (dihydroepiandrosterone). It is a hormone precursor to both testosterone and estrogen. My wife takes 50mg a day in the AM and her hot flashes have stopped. Try the DHEA if you want, it is cheap and it might work for you.

Go to your doctor, my wife was having the same thing. Tried the same things you did. She uses a patch now that releases just enough homone to stave off those symptoms. GOOD LUCK!!
