I had a dream where I had something stabbed into the back of my head, now that I'm awake, the pain is still there.

Yes - I once dreamed I was being punched (or something) in the gut. When I woke up, I couldn't even walk with the pain.

I had to ring my brother to get me and take me to the hospital. He had to carry me into the emergency. When I got there the pain left.

I think maybe your dream is brought on by the pain... not the other way around.

It's like hearing someone talking in your dream, and you wake up and someone is actually talking within earshot. I was dreaming that someone was singing in my dream the other night, I woke up and someone was having a late-night drinking session near our house. They were singing drunken tunes. It spooked me!

But I think it's not a coincidence. Your dreams are made up in part by what is actually happening to your body.

So the stabbing in your dream was probably brought on by the pain in your head to begin with. You should go to the doctor if the pain is still there.

The pain is actually in your body. The pain you dream is the body's way of letting you know, and that you should wake. A sort of internal defence mechanism.

The pain causes the dream, the dream doesn't cause the pain.

Yes, but the pain is caused by you yourself. For an example, Its just like you imagine you are drinking the finest wine in the world, but in actual fact it is your cat peeing on your face. Hope you understand what i mean by the pain is caused by you yourself.
