If the respective programs are still installed in your computer than simply do: Start ->All Programs->"look for the program you want to be added to your start menu"->Right Click->Pin To Start Menu.
The respective program should now be in your Start menu.
In case the respective programs are not installed in your system and they are Windows Components, then you can do :
Start-> Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs->select the tab "Add/Remove Windows Components" from the "Add or Remove Programs" dialog box and make your selection.

Hope this helps

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr

Report it to Microsoft - sounds like it's their fault.
