in my system tools their is no tab for restore so how do i restore my settings .

Easiest way is to reboot your computer and before windows gets a chance to load just start pressing F8. You'll get a DOS screen. Select "last know good start", then select to run windows. It's just like a system restore, but the computer picks the last date it ran well.

u talking abt restore your PC to a previous date
depends on the availability of the restore points if created by your system

but u r using windows XP right?
for i dont think there is a restore facility for windows 98 or previous OS :-)

is your system restore service turn on

check here
control panel
>System>System restore
see if the check box next to turn off system restore is checked
if yes then
you cant restore
if not then
you may be able to restore

Click on start, control panel then system.
Click on the system restore tab select the drive
Or bootup hold down the F6 or F8 key to get to safe mode run restore option

Have your computer search for: rstrui (rstrui.exe is the Sys Restore command), or for restore (the folder where it isi n System32 folder). Here is the actual target you can look for or paste into run
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore\rstrui.exe
