Sounds absurd...maybe you should re-state the question(s).
Since America was the first to have and use nuclear weapons and have paid reparations to Japan for it, I do not believe America is itchy to use "the bomb" or we would have by now (look at all the other conflicts that have happened since WWII).
Your question ignores almost a century of history and places the question in the hands of people who would just as likely say bomb the world as not. Consider yourself as a reasonable person and approach it in that matter. If such a thing were to happen, the world would change and not for the better.

With so many threatening, the United States would likely withdraw support from most of those countries and some that may have not supported the idea that the US was terrorist in order to be more self-absorbed and less involved with world issues. With the US no longer seen as being a threat, some countries that have had designs on other countries would then begin to put their preparations into action, like Iran towards Israel. China will sit back and wait until most of the world has used their resources and that's the end of that.

odd, I actually discussed this with my wife this very morning watching the news, and seeing Dianne sawyer actually interviewing North Korea's people. It seems most of the world believes the USA is the terrorist<(from other interviews around the world over that last few years), and I believe...I am serious now, truelly believe NO great society or empire, on earth has ever NOT been destroyed.....so why should us americans believe differant? I believe at one point, many countries around the globe, starting with asia, and the middle east, will banbd together and put an end to the Great american experiment, and the USA will fall just as the Romans and the babylonians, mayans, Incas, etc, all have fallen...Inc recently the soviet union...
WE believe in this country we are always right...whicht he world percieves us as being arrogant..and yet WE are only 230 yrs old as a nation, while others around theworld have been around for centuries....so it will happen , one day, they will indeed take usout..

well i have given this question great thought and i believe the diplomatic responses have little or no meaning these days ,that's why glorious president bush went above such means in Iraq and other places.America is always on the right hand of god ,right we are so if a situation came up that required such demands be met,i 100% guarantee you would see fire bombs ,in action, wars are a part of life now for all of us,strong updated military hardware is a must to as people need weapons to win anything on today's battlefields . that's just the way our world is now...

I have to agree with chris7877. America can't be diplomatic in resolving their problems anyway. The record that America has with "friendly" fire is atrocious, so by the time they fired a few weapons they would have killed the rest of the world aswell as themselves.

Well, since the United States has come to the aid of every country in the world, both in humanitarian and in military need, and since the United States is owed quadrillions by other countries of the world, and since the United States is the sole support of the inane and inept UN, I sincerely doubt that will happen.
However, if Chirac decided the world needed to do something, we would be safe because he, like most world leaders and all Democrats, think the UN has to approve every action. Since the UN does nothing but posture and ponder, there would be no action, thus no threat.

lets be honest here, firstly your name is REALIST.... not very appropriete
and secondly if America became the enemy of the world, it would be screwed - and destroying the planet is preposterous, even all of your jealously guarded nuclear weapons couldnt do that. it would just irradiate all life and create nuclear winter - screwing everyone over.
this 'fortress america' attitude is petulant and childish, we are all one race and WILL learn to get on together - weather the big kid on the block wants us to or not.
oh and if you cant defeat vietnam on your own, how would you do against UK? France? Russia? China? etc etc, most of these would kick your *** on their own.

It wouldn't happen. Most countries in the UN get along really well. It's those countries that really matter. They may not agree with everything that is said or agreed but they abide by the rules.

you won't be able to pass to conflict against an ideology. we are no longer at conflict with Radical Islam. there is surely no assessment between the present international subject and international conflict II. Do you quite have self assurance that the specter of a terrorist attack by using al-Qaeda is equivalent to the possibility of being invaded and conquered by using the Axis powers?

Why do people point upon subjects where they don't know what they're talking about? It's kind of sad to see how many people in Britain hate America, despite not having been there even once in their lives.
