Can't you time exactly when you want to get pregnant? IF I started my period Oct. 1st and ended it around the 5th or 6th, when would be a good time to try to get pregnant? and if I miss this month, how can I aim for next month?

No, you can't "time" when to get pregnanct. Some women aren't very fertile or have screwy cycles. Assuming you're a textbook woman with 28-day cycles and you ovulate on day 14, that's when you are most fertile. So 14 days after your period starts. Sperm live for a few days, so you should have sex several times around that date.

For October, this would've been the 14th--already passed. Of course, cycles can vary. I got pregnant during my period, so ovulation can occur at any time in the cycle.

Normally you ovulate around day 14 (day 1 being the first day of your period) if you have a 28 day cycle...that would have been th 14th. If your cycle is a little longer then it would be around day 15-17. If your cycle is shorter then days 11-13. So next month it will be the same try to remember to count the days in this months cycle. Good luck to you!!!

hey actually you would be due to ovulate some time to day and the 23rd...so have sex every other day from the 18th of october to the 23rd of october so the days i suggest you should have intercourse is 18th,20th and the 23rd...try use opk(ovulation predictor kits)they have a gr8t sale going on at www.early-pregnancy-test.com you get 10ovulation test and 5pregnancy test for $16.95
i also suggest when you have sex, elevate your hips by proping them up with a pillow and hold your legs up for 15-30mins and you should try to use pre-seed witch you can also buy from the site i listed above for $9.95 the lubricant pre-seed is sperm friendly and is said to help the sper travel faster, try having sex at night and afther proping your legs try and go stright to sleep and not urineing afthe ur bf/hubby ejculated, you dont wont to waste ne sperm....if you would like to track your cycle beter and know your ovulation days i suggest websits such as www.fertilityfriend.com this site offer a calender to penpoint the days witch you should be ovulating and it gives you a BBT chart so you can chart your temptures to also help you know when your ovulating another good site is www.mymonthlycycles.com another site if i were you i would check the knowmycycle.com website it will help you better understand your cycle and ovulation time.....goodluck

you missed it this month.... count 14 days after the first day of you last cycle..... and that is supposedly when you ovulate... well i say that you missed it... but i don't know when you had sex... you should have been aiming for the 15th... if you have 28 day cycle. Have sex every other day the week before and even a few days after... thats what I did... but everyone is different... good luck and God bless

Usually anytime following about a week to a week and a half after your period. Just try as much as you can and hopefully it will work. Good luck and fun trying. Friends of ours tried for years and went to fertility docs and took drugs and the whole 9 yards. Nothing happened so they went on a cruise to take their mind off of things, and guess what they got pregnant and all it cost them was a cruise!!

Violet, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

my husband and I got married in December '06 and we didnt get pregnant until this May. We tried and tried to the point that I felt something was wrong with us. I tried fertility predictors/ovulation calculators...nothing worked. I kept faith in god (prayed for a healthy pregnancy) and I ordered some PreSeed (a lubricant that helps sperm travel) and I GOT PREGNANT the first time using it!
My husbands sperm just wasnt traveling far enough but with a little help, we were blessed!

Go to preseed.com and order some. Its safe and it worked.

I just answered this for anoher person. My husband and I are trying as well :) You count 14 days after the FIRST day of your period regardless of when it ends. SOOOO....you best bet is that you will probably began ovulating on the 15th and are ovulating now!!!! They say you are "ready" for several days after the first day of ovulation!

Do an ovulation predictor kit so you know when you're going to ovulate.
