I would really like it to be different than just another manger scene.

How about recreating a scene from "Twas the Night Before Christmas"?

Why don't you have a manger scene with Santa Claus and representatives of the G-8, all giving respect to the Christ child? You could even have it set in a Greyhoud Bus station, instead of a stable. On a screen overhead, project a light show of Christmas dreams.

I'd go with the manger scene, but have it in the foregound so that behind it you can place a hill with a cross on it. Without the Cross, there'd be no reason to celebrate His coming to earth in the flesh.

Wispy suggestions of clouds (gossamer, tulle) surrounding the scene[s] would give it perspective relating to the theme.

Have you ever seen those movies where someone goes back in time to view an incredible event in our history?? Why not have several different types of people "go back in time" to witness the Christ child. Make it look like it is all a part of a dream to the "viewers" though. Just a thought.

How about you have chilren, either real or fake, laying in a bed with a dream bubble over their heads and have "Visions of sugar plums" dance in their heads. Get it??? I dunno, just a suggestion. Or you could have the same design and motifand instead of "Visions of sugar plums" it could be Santa clause and his Riendeer. Or if it's a Christian Parade The Manger scene. Your choice.....Hell you dont have to listen to me at all, but there's some ideas.
