I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the Catholic Church supports Mexican or Latino nationalism, but it does support illegal immigration. After all, since the majority of Mexicans are Catholic, by allowing a free flow of Mexican immigrants into this country it allows for the Catholic political, economic, and social power to grow. Granted some of their position concerning illegal immigration maybe the result of genuine Christian compassion for the impoverished and downtrodden, but I think much of their support for the relaxation or complete lack of enforcement of immigration policy is to increase the size of its own constituency.

The Catholic Church as a rule does not "support" any nation but does recognize legitimate civil authority. She holds these authorities responsible for respecting the fundamental rights of the human person.

Some church leaders, like Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, have spoke out about injustice and have been killed.

It is now generally believed the the Soviet KGB was behind the attempted assignation of Pope John Paul II in 1981 for his support of Solidarity in Poland.

Part of the Church's mission is "to pass moral judgments even in matters related to politics, whenever the fundamental rights of man or the salvation of souls requires it. The means, the only means, she may use are those which are in accord with the Gospel and the welfare of all men according to the diversity of times and circumstances."

With love in Christ.

--Is Catholic--

The Catholic Church is generaly against unhealthy forms of nationalism, according to the political understanding of the term. Just do a google search for
nationalism site:vatican.va

Let us look at what Pope JPII said in 1995 to the UN
11. In this context, we need to clarify the essential difference between an unhealthy form of nationalism, which teaches contempt for other nations or cultures, and patriotism, which is a proper love of one's country. True patriotism never seeks to advance the well-being of one's own nation at the expense of others. For in the end this would harm one's own nation as well: doing wrong damages both aggressor and victim. Nationalism, particularly in its most radical forms, is thus the antithesis of true patriotism, and today we must ensure that extreme nationalism does not continue to give rise to new forms of the aberrations of totalitarianism. This is a commitment which also holds true, obviously, in cases where religion itself is made the basis of nationalism, as unfortunately happens in certain manifestations of so-called "fundamentalism".

So as you can see, the Catholic Church as a whole will take a stand against nationalsim.
