I think that it is okay to "get help" I don't think it is okay to take advantage of the "help" If you are working full time and taking care of your kids full time than you deserve to have the "help" If you sit around all day waiting around for food stamps and government checks than I think that you are lazy and need to get off your A** and find a job!

First of all, I'm a single mother of 2 kids (my husband divorced me) both kids are his. I am working full time for the gov't but I still qualify for things like that! I have a college education and a supportive family. It has nothing to do with being responsible. You have to think a pay-check doesn't go too far. Rent, electric, gas, garbage, phone oh yea then there is day care, and school lunches, a car payment and insurance and those are the basics...as for the people you are talking about, try walking in their shoes for awhile!

I want to slap the sh*t out of people like you!!!! I am a single mother of one. I recieve both food stamps and wic on my child. There are some of us on it that has been left high and dry by our kid(s) other parent. Now a days, you can't get a job without childcare and cant get child care without a job and DHS doesn't do anything towards helping get child support. I'd shut the H*ll up before you get alot more negative comments!!! There are some of us that can't help the situation we have been put in!

I dont really care for it, but in the end what we think doesnt matter. We are the ones that pay for this and that's why I dont care for it. Lifes not perfect. Some people have kids when life is looking good and they can afford them, and then you live in a place like Parkersburg, WV where plants are striking and ruining our economy, then they become laid off and they cant afford to feed their kids. Those are the people I feel bad for.

I had an unplanned pregnancy, didn't have much money, but didn't want to abort my baby. So I sought for support and WIC gave me that. It helped me through my trying times and helped me be a good mother. Wic doesn't only provide food, it also provides advice and knowledge, what you should expect as a mother from your child.

*I think its kinda tragic but people of low income should have the right to have a family like anyone else. Some want to stay on welfare as a full time job but there are some that are truly trying their best and really need the assistance. Why is everyone always judging people on assistance as they probably have enough problems in their lives without hearing about it from someone that probably will never experience poverty.Count yourself lucky and have some compassion. You wouldn't want to be there.Judge your own life as there is more than likely room for improvement.*

i feel touched with this question, i thank God we have this in our country, alot of counties don't have it also medical,i feel if a family needs it we should supple it, and thank God to those who don't need it, there is a reason for every thing i promise you the ones that get it don't want to get it,it's a stricked life to live like that, so yes i think we should always have it for the needs of babies mentally sick people, familes trying to make it cause the pay even at work is not enough to support a family never look down at someone cause there getting help it took alot for them to ask i'am sure,if you can say a short pray for them.

You've asked your question twice,(but anyway) can your parents afford to feed you?. If so (good for you!). As long as your able to eat, drink and be merry,no since in wondering about how others live their lives. (Besides) Do you know for sure if you were a "Planned Pregnancy?". (Probably not!)

So are you saying you'd rather see those children aborted or starve? I'd say, thank GOD we live in a country that feeds the poor instead.
