British TV would have knock the pants off American TV not so long ago, Prime suspect was great BUT now the quality has dropped like a stone and the new stuff is just the old stuff rehashed. Its full of reality shows, games shows and repeats of the few decent ones we have made
Love CSI, Stargate, Angel, Charmed, Friends (went on too long!) Star Trek (one too many versions) and lots more
BBC still makes the best science programs but drama? Not any more

I think there are some great dramas from the USA, but I think the UK does brilliant stuff too, for eg Spooks, Wire in the Blood, Afterlife, Rebus, etc. I think the good thing from the USA series is a season lasts 26 weeks, whereas here you are lucky if you get 6 weeks, it seems 4 weeks is becoming the new season length, which is pretty pants. You are just getting into the programme then it is finishing.

what about british dramas like prime suspect, cracker, spooks, hustle, waking the dead, shameless . there are and have been loads of fantastic dramas from these shores. lets face it, the wondering of what has and is happening in "LOST" is better than the program itself where nothing happens. there are too many csi programs solving the same crime in a different way, and 24 is the same series over and over with different supporting actors. the americans do sci-fi fantastically though and make us look stupid when we try it.

You should try watching one of these in the States...35 minutes of film stretches out to an hour of ad filled frustration. They do make some good stuff, but we only get to see the creme de la creme...US television is generally shite, you think we get a lot of reality TV and repeats...you ain't seen nothing bud!

Don't forget Law and Order. I saw some British knockoff of L&O, and it wasn't very good.
Also, the Brits aren't any better at comedy anymore. The last funny thing to come out of Britain was Monty Python, which was ages ago.
