I have the opportunity to do Missionary work in Africa next summer, and have asked the pastor at my church who is in charge for more details, but she hasn't gotten back with me yet, so I was wondering if any of you would give me your first hand experiences with missionary work in Africa, if they really appreciate you being there, and if you feel it was worth while? Please no advertisements, thank you!

You didn't mention where in Africa. My wife and I have both been to Africa to serve. Very good experience. If you are in the north, then you will deal with the Muslim influence. During the summer, the south is very nice (since it is their fall/winter). Zimbabwe and S.Africa are nice, and lots of opportunities to serve people and share Christ.
