You will have to have separate phone lines. You cannot use two on same line without DSL.

Connect an ethernet cable between the two computers. Use a crossover cable if the computers are more than a few years old as they may not have auto-detection ability that can adjust for any type of ethernet cable. By the way, color is not a guarantee of the type of cable. Ask the salesman if you are not familiar with comparing the color arrangement of the twisted wires at each end.
Now you need to configure the computer without the phone connection to connect to a DHCP server. Use the Network pane of System Preferences on a Mac and it is very straight-forward. With a Windows 2000 or XP computer, the details are a bit more involved so consult the help guide.
Next you will need to configure the computer with the phone connection to share the Internet. On a Mac, just open the Sharing pane of System Preferences, put a check in "Share the connection with other computers on built-in ethernet" and click "Start" for Internet sharing. On a Windows computer, there are differing ways depending on whether it is Win 2000 or Win XP and the details are much too involved for this forum. Consult your help guide on the computer for details.

You need a router which can be purchased at Circuit City. I'm not 100% sure it will work on dial up, that is a question you need to ask. On DSL...They're way under 100.00 and very good. They link 2, 3, 4 computers to run from one source. I have a Linksys, but I'm not thrilled with it, I hear net gear is better.

make both the computers a part of same workgroup and assign static IP of same subnet. but if ur ISP gives DHCP once u are connected, then it is not possible. but if u are on static IP, give two IPs to them.
configure one as a internet gateway or proxy gateway. there are no. of software available on the net for this. One is Proxy gateway.
configure the PC which has the dialup line as the proxy and the other as slave.
once the master is connected , the slave just has to connect to the master and it will also work....
But if u intend to use the same dialup PSTN line for two computers at the same time, with both dialling out seperately, that is not possible

You can't. All the other answers you have received are assuming you have a DSL or broadband connection.
