We live on the costa blanca and would like to find a nice b&b or hotel that does not do the traditional thing. Does this place exist?

Yes the Costa Blanca exists......it is not a figment of your imagination! As for a place that doesn`t celebtate xmas?
Sticking up a tent in the mountains woud be your best bet.

There are lots of places further north in the Valencia region who don't really celebrate Christmas, most of the Brits up here go down on the Costas to celebrate it. Try the Communidad Website www.communidadvalencia.com for B&B's in rural areas.

Pleaseeeeeeee, you are obviously living in a large mainly English area, move further into the Country and live among the Spanish,as you may or may not know, they celebrate Christmas eve, just family everything is shut, Christmas Day is normal day then they celebrate on 6th Jan.
Or go back to UK, the government will eventually Ban Christmas there.

How can you not want to celebrate Christmas in Spain? Why not have a barbecue at the back of your own place (depending on your home) and wear workers' ear muffs (to block out happy Christmassy sounds)! I would love to have Christmas in Spain! If you're against having turkey and ham, surely some other kind of food is served in Spain. Why not get some roast beef and local vegetables and have them at home with sangría or San Miguel, along with some local confectionery and espresso or other coffee to finish the dinner? If you want a really un-Christmassy finish to your dinner, make Irish, French or Kahlúa coffees, unless you can't have alcohol.

Places around Cataluyna, like barcelona dont really celebrate Christmas, not in a big way, mainly only for turists! Its the Three Wise Men that are big here in January!

So around that coast would be your best bet!
