Don't talk to me about charity shops. Last week i took 3 big bin bag full of clothes to 3 charity shops in my area, each one turned me away. I was totally gobsmacked, some of the clothes were brand new with labels attached to them. I will never give any money to those particular charities that turned me away, they obviously dont need the money! Where do u live? What colour is your sofa etc, i might have it.

Not all Charity Shops, there are special ones which deal with furniture.
But if you phone around the Charity Shops, they should be able point you in the right direction.
You could also put a notice in your local supermarket.

Phone your Council. Ours would take it away for a £15 charge and pass it on to a Charity which helps the poorest in society.

As long as it's flame protected they will. Try the Salvation Army, or Social Services. With the latter they often have people moving out of halfway houses or homeless people moving into council places that desperately need furniture.
Alternatively why not put a classified in the local paper saying free to whoever will collect?
Good luck!

They will not be interested unless it is fire rated (you will be able to find out by checking the label on the sofa) if it is then phone the charity shop and ask them.
If not then ebay it or phone the council to collect.

Call a local charity shop to get a quote for removal as they often charge or try E-Bay as suggested earlier. Good luck!

whereabouts in the UK do you live? If you live in Kent, there's a place called Necessary Furniture. Look them up inthe Yellow pages. If you ring them, they'll come and collect it and all the money they make on the sale will go to charity.

Go on your councils website. Look for the page about rubbish. Then you should see a bit of blurb about special collection. Phone the number and tell them you need a collection. It should cost about £15. Alternatively phone your councils general enquiry's helpline.

Some will - better to phone around and see. Alternatively you could advertise it in your local paper and get money for it - you could then donate the money to charity if you wish.
