because all foetus' are female until later in development when hormones determine it's gender.

At first everyone starts off as a girl and its only later that for boys male characteristics develop... but because the nipples are there already they stay, so guys have nipples coz girls do :)

Embryos are always born female, but the nipples only arise after the genitals have formed whichever shape they'll be. I think they develop around after 7-10 weeks in the womb

When the nipples form it isn't decided if you're going to be a boy or a girl baby, so just in case you're gonna be a girl, you're given nipples of your very own.

I think its a sensory thing, aparantly men have less sensory nerves under the skin than women so maybe they need these to help with temperature regulation etc. All i know about this im afraid!

This has already been asked and answered but for your sake I will repeat the answer. The foetus in the womb are bi-gendered, the actual sex you will be is determined as you develop.

because sexual differentiation in embryogenesis does not happen until after nipples are formed. meaning that when they are formed boy and girl embryos are the same.
