Didn't you get a receipt when you paid?

All payments made by a switch/maestro or electron card are guaranteed to the receiver. It is only possible to cancel a credit card payment. Do as your bank say and wait the three days to see if the payment is collected by the company. The payment will be returned to you if they don't. If they do collect the money. Your bank statement will show who the monies was paid to. This will then act as a receipt for your goods.

Phone the company that you have purchased from explain that the money has gone out of your bank account and that you can prove it, check with the bank again to see what account the money has gone into, they should be able to give you a bank name and an account number, tell the company you purchased from that it has gone through, if you have to wait 3 days then do so, and if still nothing happens raise a compalint with botht the bank and the company.

Sound like the Car place did it twice. He didn't need to swipe the card again. He/she already got the authorization, since he/she had to phone it in. The car place needs to call his/her bank and see if the money is in his/her account. That is why it was denied. I would be going down there and getting my car. He/she can call the authorization center to get the authorization number for that transaction. If he/she does not already have this info. So he/she can submit it to his/her bank for hard posting.

If the garage called their credit card merchant and received the authorization code all they have to do is process the transaction as an offline sale and do their nightly settlement and funds will be released to them. If not go to your bank and have them contact the garage and get their credit card machine number and they can release the hold themselves (back to your bank)on the money.

The bank has already given the money. You should contact the company to figure out what they did with it.

In the future, use a credit card. It has more consumer protection features.

because i work at a bank i know, that you can put a stop payment on this and that the money can be put directly into your account.....it may take a few days but there is no reason your bank should not be helpful, that is what they are there for.....but yeah, you can put a stop payment on it and get the refund.

Let it come back to your bank account and then try paying for it again.
