It means your kids don't keep their toys where they belong. Tell them to put the baseball bat in the garage.

It means it got in there and cant get out!

DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! Bats often carry Rabies and even a small scratch from an infected bat can give you the disease...

DO not kill it ... Call animal control.. OR if you dont have one .. call the Police they will come or know who to call.

Remove any pets you have like dogs , cats etc.. and small children from the area where the bat is immediately. You dont want kids grabbing at it or dogs biting or jumping for it.. A healthy Bat wont fly into you or hit you.... ever... they may come close but wont hit you.

You can also try opening a door tot he outside or a window with no screen if there is one in the area he is in... leave it open whie you wait for help to come.. maybe you will get lucky and he will get out on his own.. doubtful but maybe...

Its daylight and he has got to be in a panic , poor thing...

ALso if possible you get out of the area as well and shut doors to keep teh bugger in one area til help arrives.. Make it easier to get.

Oncee its gone, be sure to clean up any an all bat poo you may see with bleach and water wearing gloves.

Bats often get into homes throug open doors when its warm or sometimes they live in attics and find thier ways into homes through the walls.

If this happens again Id have your attic or upper rafter areas checkd to make sure you do not have bats nesting in there....
They can get into a house in a very small area..

call your animal guys or the Police. If anyone gets scratched or bite you MUST go to the ER.

Good Luck

It means you have a bat in the house

Is it a cricket or a baseball bat?

If it is a flying bat it means it is lost. Try some high-frequency clicking and whistling noises, if it starts clicking and whistling back you could build up a rapore and perhaps an on-going bat-human relationship. That way, if it stays, you can at least get along.

We used to get bats in the house a lot. They were in the attic. I am deathly afraid of them, they are creepy. My husband used a fishing net to catch it and put it back outside. He has also used a badminton racquet and doinked it, knocked it silly then scooped it outside. You can also (if you are not as big of a chicken as I am) throw a bath towel over it as it is flying. It will get trapped in the towel and you can toss the towel and bat in the yard until it makes its own way out. Good luck..oh and if you have a cat be sure to check him to make sure the bat did not scratch or bite the cat.

BE CAREFUL ! DO NOT TRY TO GET IT OUT YOURSELF.
Have someone there with you or hire a professional. When the bat is gone then find out how it got in and plug up the hole most likely got in from the attic.

in all probability interior the attic. Breeding bats frequently stay in a colony at the same time. on the grounds that bats are a advantageous animal, ingesting a good style of risky bugs, you mustn't attempt to do away with them in the process the breeding season. whilst they're all grown, you are able to sparkling out the area and plug each and every of the holes. that's frequently carried out at night on an identical time as the bats are out.

It means you need to call the animal control people of your area, like right now!!
Bats are notorious for carrying rabies and you need to get it out of the house, preferable, without getting bitten.
Run to the phone, call animal control then get out of the house.

hole in the roof? You need to get it out of your house... if you want to try it yourself, get a big bowl or coffee can, place it over the bat, slide a peice of cardboard under the hole... you don't touch the bat... bat doesn't touch you... and bring it outside to release it... otherwise you need to call a wildlife trapper- definately find out where it came in from and get that fixed.
