You will likely want to have a basement contractor come out and fix it from the outside. These guys will dig down on the outside, tuck all mortar joints then put a sealer on the outside, you can tuck point with mortar from the inside but in all likelihood you need to effect the repair from outside 1st in order to stop the leak.

well first you need to make sure its water from the outside leaking in or it could be a busted pipe in the wall...if its a pipe you need to locate it and fix it .....then get some basement sealant (the waterproofing kind) and something to patch the hole... then i would go with sealing the whole basement in a waterproofing sealant it could turn into a bigger problem if you don't down the road...and you need to know how much water has actually leaked into the foundation of your home....you may need a professional if too much has leaked into it it could ruin it and make it crumble.

Go to basementdoctors.com and they'll show you if it is something that you can do or if you'll need a professional to come in.
