this is for my dissertation and i have been looking for financia charts on Bonhams, Christies and Sotherby's for weeks pleas help

I doubt it...how many auction houses sell used tea bags and lego bricks?

I think the impact is negligible.
Not only the products (although not everything on eBay is crap), but also the clientele is totally different. People who go to auction houses want to see and touch what they bid for, like the "atmosphere" of a live auction, and want to take their new possession home straight-away.
And they don't want to pay excessive shipping cost, which is - in many cases - the TRUE income of many "professional" eBay sellers.....!

I wouldn't have thought so, particularly not the ones you mention as they specialise in much finer goods than e-bay does. Also, they have their own internet auction sites, I know for sure that Sotheby's does as I used to work on it back when I was temping.

no, people sell junk on eBay, we take our valued posessions to the auctioneers

ebay sucks, i havent use them for two months, i tried them again in sept. and still have not got my stuff.. i hate using it and should cancel my account, I hope they arent causing trouble for other auction houses
