normally i just find the artwork by googling it and save it in a folder on my comp. since itunes offers to get the artwork for you i wanna do that, but it asked me to complete my itunes id iformation which includes credit card info

You can do all that stuff but if you want the BEST artwork with no hassels you can use www.cduniverse.com
This place is amazing. It can search every album, song title or soundtrack you're looking for and show you the album cover or choose from your favorite displays. I download my music from somewhere else but CD Universe gives me the best artwork.
When you find the album cover you want, right click to display the list of properties and select "copy picture as" or something along the lines of copying just that picture and paste it to your iTunes and it will display on your iPod too. It's free, when you buy a sosng off Itunes it comes with it when you play the song.

the album art is free and if you rip music from your CD's, if the album is available at the iTunes store, you can get that art too.

Some stuff is free, some isn't. I-Tunes, in my expereince, is very safe and secure. Everything is clearly listed with it's price.
