Neither of these is correct.
God is created by the human perception of meaning.
Have you ever actually thought about what the purpose of your life is?
The purpose of all life is driven my genetic desire to exist and to replicate. Whether that life is that of an ape descentant who lives for 80 years, or a mayfly whose life is measured in hours.
God is an invention of the human mind, in order to add meaning or purpose to peoples lives.
Sad but true.

This is a variation of the questio which came first the chicken or the egg...
The answer all depends on whaat you believe, were we created by evolution or divine design..
If you believe divine design god created our brains and thus the "wiring" of our brains...
If however you believe in evolution the "wiring" or make up of our brains compiled with our need as a species to explain the world around us created the notion of god...
It's all in each individuals perception and beliefs about what created the universe, the world, and us...

That's the question that's been asked for ages. Are we delusional or Created?
I personally think God created our brain wiring, because seriously, when you look at how complex and complicated everything is, and how things have to be just perfect for carbon to be formed, let alone to combine into life, it's a bit of a long shot to say it happened by chance.

Our wiring created the idea of God. If God had created our brain wiring he would surely have programmed in more certainty, a better memory and a more efficient filter to exclude the improbable and the impossible.

Brain wiring could not fathom the unknown and GOD is the perfect answer, and GOD is everywhere and brain wiring is just a part of the creation. But GOD gives us family to deal with to be treated as it is... father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, auntie, niece, nephew and others. It is the word of GOD to adhere by us.

Firstly, you are asking a slight false question. It is a complex and slippery question, with contradictory premises. Perhaps you should rephrase or use your time wisely by thinking of the right question instead.
Our minds creates the idea of God. Since our train of thoughs are limited, this limit God in a way. Personally, I think the word God has limited meaning, it does not denote omnipotence at all. The supreme entity, cannot be grasped in the whole by our minds alone. There's still the soul and the heart, and perhaps other factors.
'The right question may lead to the right answer'

Our brain strands created god --- multiple gods!! As Xenocrates once said: "Man created god and not god who created man".

Neither, it's society. Look at differnt verisons of th Bibile, some god would destroy villages and in others it was a peaceful god. So it's really society and what people want us to be.

Read the philosophies of Rene Descartes (Cartesian Philosophy) on the subject that 'if God did not exist, would man have the need to invent him?'
