The chrome stips are coming off due to dry rot of the plastic pieces that attach to little metal nubs down each side of on the car. The plastic pieces have been discontinued long ago and the parts place could not help me. Superglue does not work... I have all the stips so far but I am afraid the others may be on there just temperarily. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Try 3M double face foam tape. They sell it at part stores. I used it for car 3 years ago and they are still on and not falling off.

Be sure to clean both surfaces VERY WELL before applying the tape. I first used bug and tar remover and then alchohol. Take your time cleaning to ensure EVERYTHING is off. Then put the tape on the parts, leaving the backing on the side that will attach to the car. Be sure to properly align the strip where it is to be on the car. Once you decide where it will be, pull the backing off about 3 inches to get a starter section. Then as you attach the strip, slowly and firmly pull the backing off ensuring you are keeping the strip properly in place.

The tape is very sticky. You don't want to touch it to a surface and have to adjusted it as it will not be as sticky. Make sure you follow the instructions for temperature as per the package as you want to be sure it will stay stuck. I think it has to be 60 degrees or warmer for 24 hours.

Good Luck
