England invented all of the most popular sports in the world (i think) and america has adopted and changed them all!

eg:

Rugby - American Football (rugby with padding and quarters)
Rounders- Baseball (rounders with helmets and hotdogs)
Netball - Basketball (netball with dribbling)
We also invented hockey - led to ice hockey
Why is this? is football in danger? CALL IT FOOTBALL NOT SOCCER!!!

also, world series with only one nation competing?? WTF?

just curious................

please discuss

Absolutely right! The Americans didn't invent any thing (sportswise)! The world series does have the Canadians playing, but that's about it I think! Generally the Americans have namby pambied up all our glorious sports!

As for bastardising football, it has been done before! Hence Rugby!

Aren't we full of ourself! Americans may have adapted sports to suit what is liked here but we totally realize that you were first at everything!

Plu, we can't call soccer football like you do. We call our football football. Too confusing.

And when the World Series cam into being there weren't any other world teams. Just as you want it left the way you started it, so do we!

You didn't mention golf. I thought that sport was your crowning glory of invention! Tennis, too.

And not to get oo technical, you don't see "rounders" or "netball" in the Olympics, now do you? And your football is called soccer there as well.

Sorry. I think you are being a bit whiny!

Everybody thinks that their locality had something to do with most of the games. Similar games appear all over the world.

Big deal, it is only sports... time killers... amusement.

i think that the Americans can't handle our big boy sports, so they invent little boy sports for themselves!

I THINK ALL YOU BRITS ARE STILL STEAMING MAD OVER THE FACT YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE BALLS OR HEART TO OVER-RUN A BUNCH OF FARMERS WITH PITCH FORKS AND HUNTING MUSKETS BACK IN THE 1700'S. QUIT WHINING ABOUT US CHANGING SPORTS. WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT SOCCER AND RUGBY ANYWAY? YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF PUFFERS.

so what's your question?

I would say that if what you are saying is true, we basically improved all the sports you mentioned.
