When we delete files, using shift, delete keys or by emptying recycle bin. The files loose their names and are replaced by a number. Apart from that everything else is the same. They stay there as long as there is free space left on the hard disk. Older files are overwritten by newer files as we add new files to the hard disk. So it is possible to get them back, if done in time. here is an article that tells how to use the freely available softwares to do that. There are two of them. One is pc inspector free version. Another is called Restoration.

Not easily - you need a third party software program to retrieve the file.
Because shift-delete bypasses the Recycle Bin where the files are usually stored until you manually or set it up for automatic emptying.
Some people want to bypass the recycle bin because they know the file they are deleting and are careful in what they are deleting and just want the file GONE and not into the bin, then have to empty it.

Shift+Delete bypasses the recycle bin. The file itself _could_ still be recovered via recovery software. Do a search for file recovery and I'm sure you'll find something.

You can recover it using windows system restore or any other data recovery software. Usually you can successfully recover your file when the file is just deleted. You can recover because the destination of that file haven't been override yet. If it has been override, then you cannot recover anymore.

Well since accidents do happen computer systems help prevent against things to just disappear for the most part. Try your search function, or go to your recycle bin.
