Go to any home center or library and look at the books they have on the subject. A good magazine is "This Old House".. Costs about $15/year for an issue a month from the kids in your local school that are selling magazines as a fund raiser..

Any interior design magazine would be a good place to start! Other than that, try the websites of paint makes (Dulux, Crown etc) they have sections devoted to inspiration and makeovers.
