I have a Green Spotted Puffer in a 40 gallon community tank with other kinds of freshwater fish. He's about 4" long and as vibrant as can be (color and personality). Very easy to care for as long as your water quality is VERY good! Puffers are sensitive to poor water quality, but if you keep the tank clean and have a good filter which supports a good bio-filter, you should be in great shape. Also important to add some aquarium salt to the freshwater aquarium every water change. This helps fight diseases, improves all freshwater fish gill functions, and most puffers are brackish water fish and live better lives with some sort of salt content.

It really just depends on what you enjoy. Bettas are very colorful, but not really good community fish. Then there are everything from Barbs to Angels to all kinds of different Guppies (fancy and what not).
Go out on this site, and use the Species Profiles link to do some research. There are pictures to most all the profiles, and great information that you can gather for making a really colorful group of community fish.

I go with an Oscar every time! If you put it alone it will become your pet just like a dog would and if you buy one that has flashy colors as a juvenile, they will get brighter and brighter and amaze you everytime. But you need a 75 gallon tank. My second choice for a smaller tank would be a pair of male kissing gouramis - they're adorable!

Betta fishes last a long time I've had mine for four years. they come in all sorts of colors and you don't have to worry about buying any expensive fish tank and filter because they don't need all that as long as they have clean water and are alone then they will be fine.

What varieties of shoppers do you get on your shop? Are they regularly novices, or do you have a great variety of superior aquarists, or a mix of the two? Do a lot of them have saltwater tanks? looking out extra approximately your shoppers and what the industry desires will help steer you in the main appropriate path. Of the fish shops I incredibly have visited, the final ones have been those that had exciting invertebrates (the two freshwater and marine). Freshwater nerites or uncommon shade forms of poser snails, like crimson, could be a reliable determination. Crystal shrimp, bamboo shrimp, and different fancy shrimp kinds are something unique and correctly suited with many tank kinds. Blue crayfish additionally are alluring pets. i could say selection your plant kinds, with each little thing from Anubias for novices to Madagascar lace plant for the superior hobbyists. flora like crimson ludwigia are a reliable center floor, and supply flora like Tenellus or Microsword for persons who like that grassy look. i detect that groundcover flora are frequently in call for. consistent with hazard considering that bettas are a great seller, you could desire to enhance the variety of species of bettas which you sell. a number of the rarer species of betta, alongside with Betta macrostoma or Betta coccina, are very alluring and not many times seen in puppy shops.

We bought a Koi when he was about 2" long. My son named him Jackie Chan. He is white, and about 6" long now. No one messes with him, because he is the biggest fish in the tank, but he is not aggressive. He is very active, and his fins are like lace, so when he glides around the tank, it is really beautiful to watch. Jackie also has the little fu manchu mustache. He is also very hardy, and can handle changes in the water without shock.
This fish, without a doubt, is the most majestic and is the royalty of the tank. :)

What you think looks nice and what I think look nice are probably very different but I'll answer anyway. I have always liked goldfish, ever since I was a kid and would win them at the fair. To me the fancy ones are like water puppies with their fat bodies and when they are happy to see you it looks like they are trying to wiggle their tails at you and beg you for a treat. There are so many different types too so if you don't really like one maybe there is a different type you like. I tend to like the ones that people say are ugly, like the bubble eye, celestial or the ones with the big pom poms.

Siamese fighting fish. They come in vivid blues, reds, oranges and purples. They love small bowls with cold water so they're easy to maintain. They have lovely, flowing 'tails' that looks a lot like a mane.
The only thing is that they have to be in a small tank alone. Put any other fish in and it'll kill and eat it. If you put in another Siamese Fighting Fish, they'll kill eachother.

Discus and angelfish. Siamese fighters / bettas/fighting fish won't kill other fish they 'll only kill other male siamese fighters /bettas/fighting fish. Also the more space and water you give a fish the better. Small amounts of water make the concentration of poisons (ammonia and such) so much higher and so much more deadly.
