WOW! what to wear at a fancy dress halloween party... That is a very good question!
Maybe you could be someone from the movie THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, for they have normal looking charcters and they dress alright....
Try to keep the style with no or gore or body parts falling out, but keep it as sary as possible.
If you still don't have any ideas, ask your friends who are going what they are going to be--maybe their ideas can help you make/buy your costume.
I hope this helped, and have a good time at the party.

What ever intrigues and entertains you. Not too risque, no massive cleavage or too short costumes. A fancy dress Hallowe'en party demands you purchase or rent a quality costume though, no home made, thrown together costume will do for this party!
Have a ball!

One that is still close to enough to normal clothing that you can sit down at the table and eat. Really bulky costumes or structured to a shape might have to be removed for the dinner table. I would also keep it something food friendly, i.e. fabrics that can be cleaned.
Then decide if you want to be silly, scary, traditional, etc... with your costume, and buy one that looks like it's both comfortable and practical for the party.
If it was me, I would get something with a longer skirt or pants so that when I sat down, I wouldn't have to worry about who could see what :-)
Browse around stores, find one you like, then consider if you could sit down in it, eat in it, etc...

Since its a dinner party you dont want to look too trampy (i would think), what about somthing like Morticia from the Adams Family or Catwoman -still sexy but you are a bit covered up.
