Thanks

It depends on how much you drink, and what volume you pee out. Do you feel like you've properly emptied your bladder each time you go? Is there any burning or stinging? If you have no other problems apart from the fact that you go to the loo frequently, it may be just that you have a small bladder capacity, or a weak detrusor muscle - the detrusor muscle is partly responsible for controlling your bladder. Do you have to go straight away, or can you hold it for a while? Does this happen during the day only, or are you up several times during the night too?

Unless you're drinking more than 3 litres of fluid per day, don't decrease your fluid intake. If you have to get up a lot during the night, try not drinking for at least 2 hours before you go to bed.

Whatever the cause of the problem, your GP will investigate further and hopefully find the right treatment for you.

I had this problem and it was due to habit which needs to be broken i never relised it until after i had my last shild and my pelvic floor muscles would not go back to normal so i had to see a physio who asked me how often i used the toilet i said i can wee when i feel like it so she said i need to break the cycle and try to hold on for 3 hours as this is the length of time it takes the bladder to fill up the implications is a lazy bladder and irritation good luck as you need to stop this

Hi Helen - it could be your kidnies are not quite OK, I found when I had a kidney infection I was wee-ing a lot but it didnt hurt (like with cystitis or bladder infection). With going that much, youll get dehydrated fairly quickly so make sure you drink a lot of water. I dont know how many time a day I go, 5 I reckon :O) Bxx

it certainly depends on your fluid intake, but i drink a lot of water (200 ounces) per day and only go 6-10 times per day. I would certainly consult with you physician.

Creatinine and BUN blood tests outside the normal range*
Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of less than 90**
More frequent urination, particularly at night; difficult or painful urination

and have you checked for diabetes?

That happened to me, couldnt stop weeing. Went to docs had a urine infection and anti-b cleared it up. You should get it checked they do a simple test in the surgery, if you leave unchecked it could spread to kidney infection.

Me -- 2-4 times/day...
Over 20 times daily is NOT normal...you need to see a doctor!
One possibility is overactive bladder syndrome, and there is medication for that. Anyway, have your doctor check you out, and he/she should be able to determine what is wrong. Good luck!
