The candidates never tell you what they are about, only what the other person did not do. I for one am tired of hearing it. I change the channel everytime a political commercial comes on. How do you think we as a people can change this process. " I approved this message". haha

The only way "negative" ads will stop is if the politicians who resort to this sort of thing never win. The reason you see those ads so much is because, in the past, they have been effective in eroding support for "the other guy/gal". But I agree. I want to know what the candidate stands for...not this elementary-school-level "Teacher! Teacher! Johnny was talking when you said not to talk!" sort of advertising. Tell me what you're FOR, why I should vote FOR you!

Hello... Mrsreadal,

Candidates, they never ever really tell us Americans the real truth about anything. The problem is that we Americans don't' do any thing about it. We cry and complain but we don't write letters to our politicians commanding the truth.
And not all Americans vote and some parents do not teach their children to vote or teach them why they should vote. It all starts at the home of us "American people." So don't cry Uncle unless you do your part. So us Americans need to get off of our butts and take more action by writing tons of letters commanding the truth about everything. And I don't mean action with violence. I mean action with positive words in a letter even, if you have to send that same letter 100 times over, just do it! A positive attraction will cause positive action. Voting is a privilege. Please teach your children to vote and why they should vote. God gave us a wonderful country to live in so us Americans need to stick together and clean it up. God gave each of us instinct, it's a free gift from him, use it. Love yourself and Love God
Sincerely, ... J (:

because !
would you vote for someone telling the truth like:
we will raise taxes, interst rates, etc
we will lower the average weekly pay for the people earning under $1000,000
we will help the rich get richer and watch the poor starve
etc?

every party that gets in power does the same thing so why bother with different patries and why wast your time voting for a when b, c, d and e candidates dont care about the public?

they are just in it to get paid a load of money for nothing then get paid a massive pention afterwards

Now, we are a smarter generation who realizes that bashing is unacceptable for getting our vote. But, we need to voice our opinions to the candidates and demanding that get down to the point without the B.S. So, right your candidate in masses, asking them what are there true agenda is.

They bash the other candidate so that you will vote for the person thinking they are the lesser of two evils. I am also tired of hearing it. I can't wait until elections are over.

Most Americans remember political misdeeds before they will remember any of the good ones. the majority of American's don't do their homework for election day and they listen to the silly he said/she said commercials. The only way we will get smear campaigns to stop is if we unite as a people, and I don't see that happening since most Americans aren't very politically active individuals.

Because the only thing they are 'about' is self-promotion.They know that once they get elected, they can be pretty much assured that the only way they will leave that office is either for a higher office or their own demise.
We desperately need term limits in all national offices.

Republicans have always had negative campaigns and lots of money. America can see through this - the smart ones anyway. So sad for them that they resort to such tactics. The accomplishments recently have just illustrated their inability to properly manage our country and its interests.

Some candidates feel the best way to get their point across is to show what a vile piece of poodle doo their opponent is

You can guage their intention from what you have expressed about them. They are after power and it is only general public responsible to elect them who can teach them alesson and approve of only dedicated and experienced people to lead them.
