put our trust in God but there used to be situations where you could depend on people to do you a favour and without money too.

I know you trust in God, not everyone is comfortable with putting their "be-all " into God. I hope most people do the right thing by their fellow man, something extra for those less fortunate, and remember, "if it is to be...it's up to me"

People who cannot see God in their neighbor cannot trust in each other either. We are placed here in this existence as part of entertainment from the afterlife or prelife existence. There needs to be controversy to make this all interesting enough not to be boring, so we'll have passion for this existence. That is why some people seem like zombies to others, whereas they cannot be convinced to change to a more civil or less civil like existence no matter who or what tries to change them. It is in the program of the DNA sometimes. Maybe DNA altering will do it, but will that be the same creation when it is altered?

In earlier, less prosperous times, people had to depend on each other's good nature and generosity for mutual comfort/survival so goodwill flourished.

Along came mass merchandised commercialism and technology to make us dissatisfied with our lives with the only cure offered being expensive consumerism. With this, economic rationalism -- sponsored by soulless accountants -- obliged longer, less rewarded work, creating increased selfishness, personal pressures, and inter-personal competition.

As every rat on a treadmill knows they can spare no time for others if they are to maintain their pointless pace.

I have always felt (since my teen years) like I've known who the real friends out of my clique were. Trust in your gut, it tells u who u can rely on & who u can't. But trusting comes with learning, and then we figure out who the trust- worthy people are. They ARE out there tho, those are the only kinds of friends I keep.:o] But I think HIGHEST above those things IS in fact that I trust and have complete faith in God to take care of me, so therein He has chosen a wonderful set of friends & family for me. (Thank you God by the way.:o}) Which leads me to my final sentiment, those of us who are truly happy, are those of us who are truly thankful:O]
