I think he cares deeply about America.
You may think his policies are wrong, but instead of giving details and substance, people like you just call them greedy, evil, power-mad, etc.
You paint yourself into a corner. You force anyone who does not think Cheney, Bush, etc. are not the Antichrist to disagree with you - you push potential supporters to the other side.
If you gave an alternative, substantive program rather than just hurl insults, then you might get more support. Or maybe you have no program, so insults are your only shot.
But that's why the left loses.

It is always easy to hate someone who doesn't look pretty, isn't charismatic and always ready with a polyester smile.
Just because he doesn't use flowery, heart-warming rhetoric, and other useless bunk employed by populist, and popular, demogogues, it does not mean that he doesn't care.
Perhaps your problem is that you want a charismatic god to worship.
