It's like a grating sound in the throat of a dying person, think darth vader when he's dying, only more of a gurgling rakish sound.
Hard to discribe, but not nice to listen to.

It is a sound made in the back of the throat as the body struggles to get air in Each breath is punctuated by long silences followed by a loud rattling sound from the back of the throat. Each breath is further apart as the mind is unable to stimulate the breathing centre. Once heard never forgotten.

A death rattle is the sound a person who is dying makes on their last breath. When a person dies, their lungs and throat relax and with their last exhale of air, the looseness of those organs make a rattling sound. If you are with someone when they die, you can usually hear this sound and know that they are dead...they took their last breath.

It is the breathing heard from a dying person and it sounds WET and labored. It is a sure sign the end is near. I am a nurse who worked with dying people for years.

It's the last air coming out of the throat. It's hard to describe the noise but it sounds like quiet hollow gurgling.

It's the breathing noise someone makes before they die. It sounds like Darth Vader gargling with water.

kind of like the smell of death, it cannot be described. however once you hear it or smell it, you never forget it.
the smell, sound, sight, feel, taste of death is something you never forget and can't explain.
once you have experienced it, it's easy to recall the senses. when someone close to me (physically) is getting ready to die i feel it, smell it, hear it, see how it will happen and get the worst taste ever in my mouth.
