the person is trying to hide their inner hurt... in the beginning it was OK to talk about being hurt but after a while the person becomes depressed, they not knowingly laugh their way through things especially around people, because that laugh gives them a quick happy boost although they know it is false as when they are alone they feel low. . you should respect them and not ask to many questions like are you OK? and do not say i think your going insane? be normal as you would and try n cheer them up by doing things you know they like but do not make it look like that is what your doing.... Oh and be there because after this stage they will have a big brake down and they will need you there......
i hope it works out xx

Yes...laughter is a self-defence mechanism that most humans use to hide their true feelings. That is the same reason, some people laugh where they are scared. Sometimes, people laugh after being cheated because they feel stupid.
I would feeling that the person is trying to hide his / her embarrassment. Therefore, I would let the incident 'go' without further enquires. However, if the situation is of a 'grave' nature, then I would show my concern and counsel the person.
I normal situation I would pity the person, unless it is retribution.
Cheers..

Every person deals with a situation differently, Some laugh, some cry, some get upset and some get violent. This could be how that person deals with stessful situations.

It might be a way to cope with it, but I think that's great. I mean, one could say if the person's hurt he/she should show it it's easier to go through it that way, but I'm a big fan of people who can laugh at anything in life, even painful moments.

I do laugh if somebody manages to fleece me.
And I even have to admit to a grudging admiration for them for doing it; I'm not easy to fleece.
But that is really only because I know they will pay, and pay dearly for it when I get round to balancing the books.
Because I never sit back and let a thing like that slide.

yeah i would feel a little sympathy for them, cause they are probably just trying to cover up the fact that they're hurting cause they don't want others to think they're upset by someone who did such a terrible thing to them. It's just human nature though...if my boyfriend cheated on me, it would really hurt me and i'm the type to show my emotions so i would probably cry all over everyone..lol

I would feel bad for the person, b/c they have just had their trust and heart broken. I would have to say they are trying to get over it. If anything I would try to consult them and have them tell me whats on their mind, which in term would make them feel better
