What is difference between Mobile & Cell phone. If ther is no diff then why ther r two terms?

Hi,
They are the same, and there are more!

Cell phone or cellular
Used in U.S. and Europe
Calls are routed through antennas referred to as cells in a network.

GSM
Europe mostly although growing in u.s.
Global Systems Mobile - a technical standard developed in Europe for a cellular phone network and the equipment that use that network including phones.

a handy
Used mostly in Germany I don't know why.

mobile phone
Generically used in Europe and the u.s.

There is absolutely no difference. Mobile origanally came from when phones were in the car. Cell phones came after the became more "mobile". The term cell relates to the different cell sites that your call transfer throughs as you are talking and moving along.

There is no difference. Originally 'mobile phone' was used, because the concept that a phone could be 'mobile' was exciting and new. As mobile phones became more common, it became an out-dated term, as the use of the words "cell phone" became more popular.

Just 2 different terms for the same thing--in the USA they say 'cell phone'--in Europe and elsewhere,they use the term 'mobile phone'.
