I used their online service to do this and was given a confirmation e-mail that this was sucessfull and it would take 10-12 days to change.3 weeks later i still had no broadband , so i did it again, sucessful again it said.

SORRY - THIS IS A LONG ONE BUT ----I had so many problems with my b/b connection with Tiscali failing completely for four days, and all thoses expensive phone calls all telling me that it was a BT cable fault. After 5 days I phoned again and got the usual call centre in Delhi or wherever it is, and I asked if there was anybody there with English as their mother tongue.... and suddenly in a very POSH Indian accent I was VERY politely asked to hold the line for a minute while he checked the line, and whilst I held, suddenly all the lights came on and I was back on line again. I can only assume that the Indian with the posh accent had leant out of his window in Delhi, reached across to the exchange in London, joined/mended the offending cables, and then came back to see if I was back on line, and all WITHIN one minute.
I can therefore only assume that he fixed the problem by osmosis or magic as he was obviously nowhere near the cables. The only other thing I can think of was that they were telling ferkin great lies about the cable all the time and it wasn't until I got a bit up front and personal that they got things moving!
Even yesterday, dear Tiscali stopped me accessing my e-mails - every time I got the page up, as soon as I went to open a message, bang - straight back to the opening page again. This happened several times, so I tried to e-mail them, and that took three attempts before it would go. In the message I pointed out the fact that I could NOT get e-mails so they would have to phone me with advice.
You can all guess what happened can't you------ Yes, they sent me an e-mail with the instructions on what to do!!! Just as well the fault cleared itself yesterday anyway, wasn't it !!!

I think we should all do what "baz 9" suggests - with thanks to him.

I know your feelings, my line went down Oct 6th and didn't come back on until Tues 18th. I've spent a fortune on phone calls plus dozens of emails. On the 6th I was told it would take 24 to 48 hours to fix. To rub salt in the wound I have the free phone calls package but calls to them are paid for at an inflated price.
Try Pipex, they have an offer on at the moment.

I know what you mean - It's very frustrating.

But someone will eventually answer the phone, if you hold for long enough - Then you get the fun part of trying to understand what they are saying!

I had similar problems with them ages ago. Perhaps you could try contacting OfTel and see if they can help you out.
