soak item in something acidic ie vinegar or white wine or
Soak or rub washable fabric with cold water until the stain is almost gone, then wash with warm water and a detergent. To old or stubborn stains apply a few drops of ammonia* and wash again with detergent. On nonwashable fabric, sponge the stain with cold or lukewarm water. Sponging with a little hydrogen peroxide* will usually remove any fianl traces of the stain. If not, use a chlorine bleach*, depending on the material. Blood stains that have been set by heat are very difficult if not impossible to remove, but on cottons and linens, a warm solution of trisodium phosphate will usually remove such stains.

I know it sounds silly by try using milk. I cut my finger at work a few months ago and got blood all over my white shirt. A colleague told me to use milk. You just get a t-towel, dip a corner of it in some milk and then dab the blood stains. It works a treat. I don't know if it works on blood stains that has dried but it is worth a go.

Ordinary spit...
Sounds odd but there is an enzyme in saliva which breaks down the proteins in blood and makes is fade in front of your eyes.
I suggest following that (you'll need to rub it quite vigorously - and it helps if the spit and the blood were from the same person) with washing it in ordinary soap, rinsing in VERY hot water (almost too hot to touch) then slinging it in the washing machine.

Vinegar is good for color clothing and Clorox bleach pen is good for you whites. Let both of them soak for a little while and then wash with your like colors. Check them after the cycle is done before putting them in the dryer. You may need to do another wash cycle but it will eventually come out! Good Luck!
