Ok, this is more of a rant than a question, but you can offer your opinion. I think that these questions "who would win, this bad NFL team, or this good college team" are rediculous. A college team might get lucky once in a while, but ANY NFL team would beat ANY college team almost every time. EACH player on an NFL team was the very best on their team in college, if not one of the very best in all of college football. Even a great team like USC of the last few years has only a handful of players on NFL rosters. I don't care HOW BAD the NFL team is, and HOW GOOD you think a college football team is, the NFL players are some of the the BIGGEST, STRONGEST, FASTEST, and TOUGHEST athletes on the planet. This is in response to a previous question from someone about the possibility of the Lions losing to Michigan. A lot of people chose Mich. The Lions are not even the worst team in the NFL. It is a joke to think that anything but a terrible day for the Lions would result in a M win.

I am AWARE that college players make up the NFL teams, but it's only the BEST COLLEGE PLAYERS who do so. For example, look at who the Lions had/have at receiver. Mike Williams (best his year in college), Roy Williams (probably the best his year), and they CUT Charles Rogers (best his year at MICHIGAN). They are not even a good team, and look at the college TALENT they have. I realize on any given sunday..., but as I said, it would take a REALLY BAD DAY from an NFL team to lose to the VERY BEST college team.

Oh, and I am not a fan of the Lions, this was just in response to that question I mentioned above...

NFL teams are made up of college players but college teams are made up of high school players. By some of the logic I see in some of the other answers that would mean that there would be high school teams that could compete with some college teams? I don't think so.

Hey I don't care how good the players on an NFL team are I can bet you ten to one that if a well rounded college team doing a great job working together could very well beat an NFL team. That NFL team would have to be a team that is bad, not working together very well, and over confident. I know they do this kind of thing in basketball once in a while and the pro team does get beat once in a while. You do make a good point that they pick up great playersw but what is a team of great players that can't work well together.

I agree this is usually a stupid question. Now when it is about some College Team and a Pro Team like the Raiders this year I have a habit of picking the College team. It isn't because I think the College team is that much better. It is because Randy Moss of the Raiders said that it seems like the team has given up and aren't intrested in playing. Well if an NFL team shows up not wanting to play and not wanting to be there then I think the College team has a chance. Not the college team is BETTER but they are more likely to win because they are showing up WANTING to win.

Well there is the old saying "on any given sunday" or saturday as the case may be. But seriously maybe one out of a dozen games an inferior team could win. there are always upsets in sports but even the worst in the NFL are far superior to the NCAA. If you take the allstar team in college against the worst team in the NFL the odds would increase significantly perhaps close to an even playing field.

Years ago there used to be an exhbition game between the reigning NFL champs and a college all-star team. The all-stars would probably have been capable of defeating any regular college team by a large margin but generally failed miserably against the pros. The college teams did play some close games against the pros, however and may have actually won one but I would have to look it up and that would spoil the fun of a question like this.

Back until the early to mid 80's a college team would play a pro team. I think College only won a few times but they did win sometimes.

The players in the NFL are all paid to play. The only college players that are paid are players in southern California. Michigan wouldn't stand a chance against the Lions.

i would like to see a game like that. I remember them talking about that in the 60's..but don't know if they ever had an exhibition game against NFL-vs a college team.
That would be a great game and a lot of pride would be at stake on both sides of the ball.

I think the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers or 2001 Miami-FL Hurricanes could compete with a NFL team and probably beat them.

um....okay. who do you think comprises these great NFL teams? Previous College players. They hone their skills in the NFL, granted, but without these talented college players.....where would the NFL be? College football has some of the most cut-throat games! NFL players are pampered. Who's to say who would win between a college & NFL team.....I think it would be a hell of a game! The college team would be hype as hell to play! The NFL team would probably underestimate them.....I think that's an even field!
