They will see that you have been able to afford living and you have left yourself homeless from yuor own free will. The council will only give houses to people on low incomes who have not already got theie own property or who have children and can't afford to get a mortgage or private rent. There is also a long waiting list for both council and housing associations. It also goes on a points system and as you are living in your own proerty, you will not get many points if any at all.

The council will review your circumstances (hopefully they will understand them better than I do!), and if you are found to have made yourself intentionally homeless or if they consider you have enough funds to rent privately they WILL NOT rehome you.
