I just found myself wondering: I was married 10 years.... had sex a lot.... nearly every day.... near end of my marriage only 3 to 4 times a week...... still quite a bit...

I have a male friend who speaks of going weeks and sometimes months with out sex........ he's married 5 years now. Is this common for some relationships?????

What's the frequency of sexual encounters in other marriages???

robbie: the reason I'm asking is because I am finding myself to be in a new relationship where I really love and respect who the guy is ;...... but the sex is not as frequent as I'd like it to be.

LOL - I spent the last TWENTY years of my marriage celibate.

Totally. Completely. Utterly.

What does that do for frequency?

Hello ...Who Me,

You're doing great. Are you complaining? Every married couple are different, and no it is not unusual for some couples to go weeks or even months with out sex. There is a lot more in life to think about other than just sex. If sex is the only thing that keeps a marriage going then you don't have a marriage. Having fun together is just as important. If you are not happy about how many times you do have sex with your new boy friend then talk to him. He can't read your mind. Relax, life is to short.
My husband and I have been married going on 38 years now. When sex happens with us we put on our calender on the date that it happens in big letters ' BINGO! " and we LOL. Have a nice day
Love yourself and love God.
Sincerely, ...J (: (:

it would depend on the sex drive as well as other factors in the people in the marriage.
Different Rx's taken by people can also lower sex drive. Family stress, work, and life can have factors, they vary from couple to couple. Often the biggest factor is time......... if both people work, and they have a child or two, heck it is hard to just find the time and energy to have sexual contact.
for the record, I would say 1-2 times a week seems to be about average with in my own marriage.

Some marriages (and relationships) can go without sex for long periods of time due to lack of passion or stress affecting their lives. It's all up to each couple. I personally hate to go more than a week without sex and I'd have sex everyday, but my bf and I have two demanding jobs that don't allow us to see each other more than twice a week. But we definitely capitalized on our opportunities.

yes, sex and marriage don't go together, which is why there is so much cheating going on and divorices. If each spouse would take care of the other sexually, there wouldn't be as many divorces and a lot less cheating and fooling around.

It depends. There is no universal pattern, to the best of my knowledge.
