Ford's Craig Lowndes with his co-driver Jamie Whinchup became the inaugural winner of the Peter Brock Trophy on Sunday October 8, 2006. It is Lowndes first win at Mount Panorama since 1996.

Peter Brock Trophy is launched in honor of the late Peter Brock, who became known as the "King of the Mountain" for his exploits at Bathurst who died in a rally car accident near Perth last month.♥
