Yes cow farts is a big one. I know it sounds strage but is actually big cause of methane gas. As there are an unnaturally large amount of cows reared for beef and leather the gas is a big problem.

Cars are a big problem and any chemicals that are put into the environment that aren't natural e.g cleaning products/ garden fertilisers.

Also rubbish put into black plastic big bags - when rubbish starts to decompsoe it cant escape through plastic and produces a gas

Our intensely industrialized lives, mostly.

Over 6,000,000,000 human beings trying to live a life that makes them want more things than they have, to compete with their neighbours to show they are leading a good life by collecting objects or using services that require such a level of industrialization that the earths ecological systems cannot cope.

Waaaay back when there were only a few humans killing a few other mammals like any other creature, the earth could cope. As societies formed and needs grew, nature began to be taxed more heavily. Trees were cut down indiscriminately for fuel and for utensils, homes, ships and so on.

This kept escalating to what we have now, such a level of carelessness about how much we take from nature, how much waste we mismanage that nature is screaming at us.

The industrialized nations, leaders of the world, are the ones that should be leading by example. They should be creating solutions that respect our environment while still giving us the level of life we seek. It is possible.

We should also be teaching these new technologies to developing nations, helping them avoid our mistakes.

We shouldn't be creating pollution quota systems to then buy the allowance of countries that cannot produce pollution and using it to justify our excesses. We should be creating clean ways of manufacturing, producing food, transporting ourselves and entertaining ourselves.

The contemporary causes of Global Warming are the shortsightedness of the people who create the pollution and the shortsightedness and carelessness of those who can make them change their ways.

Now please get up and turn off any lights you don't need on and review what steps you personally can take to reduce pollution, and therefore global warming, while we wait for those whose job it is, do something globally useful.

Global warming stops with YOU!

There are 2 main reasons:
1) the huge increased in CO2 emission into the atmosphere, as a result of industrial, domestic, and transportation activities
Co2 results mainly from burning of fuel, and other minor sources
2) The fast rate at which we destroy forests,
Because trees work as an absorbent of CO2,
They fix and transform CO2 into:
wood, leafs, fruits, flowers, ........., and food
Now can you imagine with me that the amount of forests before we (Humans) started to Emmit huge amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, were just enough to make the balance of CO2 in the atmosphere that was emitted by the natural activities on earth !!!!!
But Now, we cut the forests, and Pump more CO2 into the atmosphere, and yet we want the balance to stay the same,
__________________
as a result of this the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere increases rapidly in cause the Green house effect, which allows the heat coming from the sun carried by light waves to enter through the atmosphere, but will not allow heat waves alone to escape back to space from earth, thus increase the TOTAL amount of heat on earth, and this is what is called Global warming

Cause of global warming:

Gas's effect = Quantity of gas released * multiplicity

Methane has multiplicity 20 times more than CO2 but CO2 relesed in atmosphere is much much more.

But now our concern should be how much emission has decreased. As CO2 released today will show its effect in coming years (not instantaneously). So if things get better or worse ... we will know fter some years. The results are not bright.

Said to be accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In 1977 I measured 320ppm average over a few days. In 1989 I measured 345ppm average over a few days. Both measurements were confirmed by another laboratory.

Another greenhouse gas is methane but a few years ago reports had it that methane levels in the atmosphere had actually decreased due to extensive repairs to Russian oil and gas pipelines.

The most common and effective greenhouse gas is water vapour.

Seriously, the sun.

Mars is undergoing global warming as well. Certainly, it cannot because of increase in CO2 due to human activity.

Proportionally it is CO2, from combustion of fossil fuels, but methane, from organic processes is a MUCH 'greater' greenhouse gases than CO2
