I like to cut off the crusts, and depending on the bread I buy it could be either square or oblong.
I must confess that if I'm having a buffet I will remove the crusts and cut the sandwiches into triangles, but if I'm just alone at home, the crusts come off, and I will do square or triangular.
The sandwiches I like to make are cheese with relish, tuna mayo, roast beef and mustard, bacon and egg, ham and coleslaw.
As long as it's tasty I'm not bothered whether they're square or triangular, though I do cut them into triangles more than I cut them into squares.
Hope that helps. Why do you ask?

sq. Sandwiches style lots extra effective because of the fact they're a sq. Meal ! Triangular Sandwiches style lots worse considering which you in basic terms get 0.5 as much as in a sq. Sandwich ! A Triangle Sandwich = a million/2 a sq. Sandwich !

Depends on the sandwich,

marmite or chocolate spread - small squares
sausage or something else big and cooked - oblong
Salad, cheese or other various savories - small triangles
crisps (monster munch or wotsits) - uncut large square
Toasted sandwiches - large triangles

I am not fussy, i just know what i like :)

Prefer soft rolls but that is a bit decedent for every day so like square bread cut in half to make two fairly symmetrical rectangles.

Round, in a roll or bap, or long as in a baguette/sub, unless it's a bacon sandwich, which MUST be on white bread and ritually cut in half in both directions making four small squares, which is how my Daddy used to make 'em for me when I was a kid - with brown sauce, please! Mmmmmm bacon....
