I´m talking about more "expensive" clothes. Names/ brands of people you don´t even know about. Isn´t that stupid??? Please read my earlier question about Hugo Boss.

Thank you very much for the answers, I like to hear what you say about it because i have getting so sick and tired of the people who is just showing up there "high classy" clothes, so this was more like an rhetorical question.

I don't wear designer clothes, too pricy for me and why would I want to give them more of my hard earned money, they already have enough.

I personally don't wear expensive clothing. I prefer "Gap","Old Navy", and "New York Express". The clothes are just as good as the expensive brand. I think people who wear expensive clothes are just throwing their money in others faces. Sometimes a person will spend their last on an expensive shirt or skirt, but will that shirt or skirt pay your rent for the month?

In today's society it is a way of being recongnized that you have money or statue. To me I dont need to wear some one's name on my butt to know that I am accepted in todays society. Clothes are clothes no matter how you look at it. Sorta like when you go to the grocery store...you can buy name brand cereal or buy the same cereal just with a different label.

My daughter once told me that her boyfriend is a "label whore". I guess he feels that if he buys label named products he is getting the better quality of things. You can buy good quality clothes without the label....just gotta know where to shop and what to look for.

I don't really care about "labels" on clothes, I'm way past caring about stuff like that. Designer labels clothes are nice...don't get me wrong, I like to look good but I couldn't care less where those clothes came from. The label clothes sometimes hold up better than cheaper things because of the fabric, etc., but I wear what I like & what's comfortable to me....No matter what the label in my collar says.

I do it because of the quality of the merchandise. Yes I could go buy a pair of black pumps at payless for $10. But they don't take wear and tear very well and are not as comfortable. So instead I will spend $150-200 on my Dolce & Gabbana they last and are so comfortable. of course if it's a trendy item I'll buy the cheaper item.

You have some interesting questions. Where did you get that info on Hugo Boss? I would like to read more about that and about Nostradomus. Very interesting. Do you know of any good sites on the web?

I positioned on my Uncle's P-Coat from WW II army. He has been long gone 8 years now. I easily have a pair of shirts that belonged to my Dad that I positioned on now and back and my mom continually notices. Dad has been long gone 17 years final week. I understand what you assert. i think the comparable way.

when something is expensive and of good quality - you can usually see it no matter what and there's no need to show off the label. I try to avoid brand names, though i think the FCUK logo is pretty funny:)

i guess, it's all a race of showing yourself more posh than your known ones.. or if you are rich and have money to throw away then you buy whatever you feel is out of reach of others who don't have money...

if hugo sell in primark prices, it won't be hugo any more and will not attact rich !

I think it is a young/highschool thing to do this. I am too poor to do this and really dont care what name are on my clothes just as long as they are comfy and reasonably priced.
