get him what u would normally bye any man his age he does not see you as a white family he only sees a friend ,as you should only see him not an Asian but a Friend.and if you are still stumped ask him what he likes an im sure he would give you some ideas with out telling him what your up to

I would advise avoiding alcohol or anything not suitable for vegetarians. You say he is Asian so there is always the possibility of him following a religion which forbids certain things, so better to be safe than sorry! Otherwise anything you would get a white man of the same age!
