I loved the Islands, especially Samos, Ikaria, Nyssiros, Tilos.. I love the nature and the people are very nice and charming. Especially on the small Islands I loved the lack of crime, people where very honest and you could leave your stuff behind without worries. I love the food, the climate, the color of the sunset, the feeling of history all around you, actually I fell in love with Greece the first time I arrived there. I am European and this is for me the most attracting country in Europe.
Rhodos I really didn't like, too many hotels and tourists, it missed the layed back athmosphere. Nor did I like Kos.
Paros was nice and Naxos has a beautifull town.
Kreta, I have been on Matala which was fun for a few days but wouldn't go back there.
Santorini I only saw from the boat and I would like to go there once. Fascinating Island!

Negatives : Too far away from where I live
Positives : The most friendly and "up-front" people I have ever met (if they like you, they will do anything for you, if they don't like you they will tell you).
Beautiful country (for the most part - even Greece has some horrible bits).
Fantastic history
Better food than everyone gives them credit for
You completed everything in time for the Olympics - well done - now lets see how the UK does!
Easier travelling round (ferries more reliable)
Internet access means booking tickets is dead easy
We go to Greece twice a year and now have many friends out there who we keep in touch with and who come to stay with us when they visit the UK. It is embarassing to say that I know more people in the village where we stay on one of the Dodecanese islands than we do in our own village in the UK. The English are so much more reserved and, of course, we all hide in our houses whereas the Greeks get out, mingle and value family life far more.

Positives, Greece is romantic, great beaches, great nightlife, great food, great weather, plenty of things to do( boating, cycling, rock climbing, gambling, Archaeological sites, etc. Nice people.
Negatives, Outdated plumbing, streets in disrepair. But these are far outweighed by the good things. Love Greece, have been there four times. I can think of nowhere on earth that is better to suffer for Jesus.

I wanna go back! We did not have enough time there, and there is so much to see. Santorini is a must, as well as Athens. Do climb the Acropolis. Eat and shop in the Plaka. It is a fabulous country to visit.

Only one heartfelt tip: don't drink the Retsina. It's a wine made from pine resin that tastes like turpentine and gives you the most nightmarish hangover that you could ever imagine - that lasts for days.
