The correct answer should be no if the densities of the liquid are the same. If they are not the same then a certain degree of mixture is expected (caused by acceleration and deacceleration of the liquid). Do note that if the densities are not the same, initial separation should have occured already in the stationary position. sofarsogood and sirestan provided some additional details too. =)

If a container contains any substances of different density then shaking it will mix them up. The density of air is much less than a liquid so it moves a lot. When you shake the momentum of the denser is greater, so it resists movement more, causing mixing.

If it contains a single homogenous liquid then shaking it should not mix it up - but how could you tell, since it would remain homogenous.

It depends on the difference in density between the liquids being mixed.
If the liquids are the same density then they will move the same and very little mixing will occur.
If the liquids are very different densities like oil and water, they will move at different rates when shaken and will mix more easily.
The reason it is easier to mix when air is present is because of the HUGE density difference between liquid and air, it allows EVERYTHING to move more freely and mix more easily.

yes, even thou there is no air, the pressure from shaking the container will make the liquids move

the lighter liquid will always rise to the top if you invert the container, therefore they will mix then separate again.

if it contains 2 different liquid w/ different weight then it would but if only same liquid still it would have you heard about gravity?
