Convince me to not bother or go for it, plus are there any good titles (rumored or already out) that my be worth giving a try?

If u want to.
u might want other games later on for ur DS, so go ahead and buy 1. u can play on it normal SP games on it too, so if u have SP gamees that u want to play and ur Sp got lost or stolen, u can use ur DS. It can be for more than 1 or 2 programs. (Like an alarm clock, connection to the internet, and other cool stuff)

Go for it! Tetris DS is awesome and with Wi-Fi capability's, no other Tetris can match up to it!
Other games:
Club House Games: Basically like all the Yahoo! Games and is also Wi-fi enabled.
New Super Mario Bros.: The game was too easy, but it was a blast. And the mutliplayer and the minigames are awesome.
Mario Kart DS: This game is addictive over Wi-Fi or Local Wireless. More fun local wireless so you could trash talk your opponent.
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: If you're a Zelda fan, you definitely need to consider getting this game.

You may only think that you only want Tetris now but when/if you get a DS you will realize that there are many many MANY other great titles out that you WILL want. Trust me on this one. I'd say go for it and once you actually have it you will look into it more and want to get all that you can out of it...which is a lot!

yea! theres Lot's of Great Titles for the DS, the way i know is because my brother has one. try looking for......

(Tetris) Mario Vs. Donky kong: March Of the minis.......
Super Mario Bros........ and Yoshi's island 2, there's planty of them, if i were you I would get a DS!!

Any game you get will go out of fashion as soon as you get it. Tetris is available as a game in its own right. Go to Argos or Toys 'R' US. Only buy a DS if you want other games.

I don't think it's a great idea. Besides, there are many great titles for
puzzle fans. Ooh, that sounded weird. There's Polarium, brain Age, Cooking Mama (XDD), and many other great puzzle games.

no, just download it for the computer then, no point in spending all that money for tetris. the pc version is like 10 bucks at futureshop probly, or you could get a version off the internet
