the back of my ipod gets hot...?

when it is charging. why does this happen?

Yes! Don't worry!
If it does get too Hot though you would need to consult an Apple Outlet(They have acknowledged a Hot battery Fault with the iBooks and Power Books)

It might be one of these from the Faulty batch!
But Apple are great at resolving warranty issues!

dont worry its normal.. it happens also when im charging my cellphone.. start worrying when u smell something burning..
