Why can't you see the Eiffel Tower from Africa?

Call or email someone very far away and have them measure the length of the shadow of a 1 meter long stick placed exactly vertical on the ground. If the earth was flat, these shadows would be the same length.

Take two boats N1. and N.2. You are on board of boat N. 1 that is steady near the arbor. Then say a friend, that is on board of boat N. 2, to go strait away far from the arbor toward the open sea. Imagine a very clear day, with very low humidity in the air so that you can see very far away. There will be a moment in which you will not see anymore the boat N. 2. There are numerous methods to prove earth is round. I could just ask them to journey east and go to the 'end of the world' across oceans. Some day they would come back to me and that would prove that the earth has no end. So it is round
